SSA to present feature film at outreach event

| March 22, 2024 1:00 AM

The Sandpoint Sailing Association is hosting its third annual movie night and outreach event Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Panida Theater.

The film "Success", which features four Idaho sailors who battle the elements in a legendary race to Alaska aboard a small sailing vessel, will be featured at the event. There will also be three additional short films that include highlights of the SSA. The event will also have a raffle and prizes from local merchants, restaurants, and event sponsors.

“We’re having this event for the third year running to get our community excited about one of the best summer activities available in Sandpoint," said SSA commodore Sadie Long. “We’re inviting anyone interested in sailing to come out to watch some amazing films, find out how they can get involved with a great organization, and get excited to get out on the water this summer. The event is open to the public and the cost of entry is a suggested donation to the club. Come join us and discover how easy and affordable it can be to go sailing on Lake Pend Oreille,” said Long.

The event is sponsored by Connie’s Café & Lounge. All proceeds from the event go directly to supporting community sailing in Sandpoint through the Sandpoint Sailing Association.
