Numerous Bonner County residents announced campaigns to run for precinct committeemen positions as the deadline to file for the seats closed Friday, March 15.

Every two years, a precinct committeeman for each political party is elected in every voting precinct within each county.

The Airport precinct has only two candidates: Janet Pultorak is running as a Democrat and Anita Aurit as a Republican. The Algoma precinct also has two candidates, one for the Democratic party — Victoria Buska, and one for the Republic party — Richard Kirschner. The Baldy precinct will see Democrat Audrey Gates and either Republicans Butch Horton or Victoria Zeischegg as its committeemen or women.

Republicans David Britton and Wendy Tico will face off for the Beach precinct while three Republicans — Anne Wilder Chamberlain, Shari Dovale and Calli Schmatz — battle for the Blue Lake precinct.

Nathlie White will run as a Democrat for the Careywood precinct as well as Republicans Justin Allen and Lana Santelli.

Jim Ward, Democrat, and Roger Rudd, Republican, will be selected for the Clagstone precinct.

Clark Fork and Colburn only have one committeeman candidate each — Dimitry Borisov and Nello Mark Montani, both Republicans.

Dodie Glass and Mark Sauter will go up against one another as Republicans for the Dover precinct. Jeff Connolly and Karen Stifel, also Republicans, are running for the East Priest River precinct.

Douglas Paterson is the only candidate for the Edgemere precinct, running under the Republican platform. Republicans Lisa Liband and Richard Wayne Townsend will compete for the Gamlin Lake precinct.

In the Grouse Creek precinct, Emma Charlotte Stanford ran as a Democrat and Ron Korn, Kathy Rose and Barbara Schriber are running as Republicans.

Hope will see Democrat Kathleen Huntley and either Republican Lora Adams or Kim Peckham. Kerry Kresage, a Democrat, will represent the Humbird precinct alongside Mat Macdonald, a Republican. Katrina Pielli will represent the Democratic party with Republican Grace Bauer in the Kootenai precinct.

Jane Purdy is the sole candidate running for the post in the Laclede precinct.

Democrat Katherine Rosenberg will hold for the Lamb Creek precinct seat alongside Republican Michael Fife. Oden and Priest Lake each have one candidate, both in the Republican party — Tom Cleveland and Mike Nielsen, respectively. Two Republicans — Tanner Linton and Rod VanLoon — are seeking the Oldtown precinct post.

Kathryn Larson, a Democrat, ran for the Sagle precinct while Andy Kee and Yulanda Smith, Republicans, will battle each other for the seat.

Denise Griffith is running under the Democratic party as Dave Bowman and Sean Morgan compete under the Republican party for the Selle precinct post.

The Southside precinct will only see one candidate on the ballot — Republican Spencer Hutchings.

The Spirit Valley precinct will have Republican Steve Rezac and Democrat Christine Veblen Bishop. The Washington precinct has three candidates — Democrat Linda Larson as well as Republicans Tom Bokowy and Roger Landrum.

Robbie Gleason will represent the Democratic party as he serves next to either Republican Scott Herndon or Jim Woodward in the Westmond precinct.

The West Priest River and Wrenco precincts each have only one Republican on the ballot — Kristen Dodd and Nathan Thomas, respectively.

The term of a precinct committeeman begins the eighth day after the primary election and ends the eighth day following the next succeeding primary election.
