Little Live Radio Hour returns to KRFY

| March 26, 2024 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The emphasis may be on music, but the Little Live Radio Hour has a few new tricks up its sleeve for this third season.

KRFY recently announced the return of its monthly local music showcase, “Little Live Radio Hour,” to the airwaves.

On Tuesday, March 26, at 8 p.m. radio listeners can tune their dials to 88.5 or use the live webstream on KRFY.org to catch the 2024 premiere of The Little Live Radio Hour, returning for its third year of live broadcast from the Little Panida Theater.

Besides providing a chance for conversation with the musician, the format will include act breaks with some live radio theater provided by local thespians.

Jack Peterson, KRFY associate station manager, will be hosting the show.

“We’re trying to keep things fresh and play around with our format a bit,” Peterson said. “Live radio provides such unique opportunities for creativity. We wanted to take advantage of that and put together a program that’s unlike what you can find anywhere else. It’s an experiment for us. I hope it pays off; but even if we fall flat on our face, it’s going to be fun to hear it. No matter what, the music will be great.”

This month’s show will feature local singer-songwriter Justin Lantrip. He has been a longtime fixture of the area music scene who took a leave of absence in warmer climates and recently returned, KRFY officials said.

The Little Live Radio Hour is a joint production between the community radio station and the Festival at Sandpoint, which provides promotional support and world-class audio engineering through production and education manager, Paul Gunter. The Panida Theater furnishes the venue and will offer beverage service for in-person attendees.

The show is scheduled to air only once, from 8 to 9 p.m. New editions of the show will air on the fourth Tuesday of every month through October, with new musical acts each month.

The show airs live, unedited and unfiltered, and can also be seen live in person free of charge. Contact KRFY at 208-265-2992 for details on joining the audience on-site.
