CLUB WRESTLING: Area athletes compete at 2024 USAW Northwest Regionals
CENTRALIA, Wash. — Sandpoint's Shane Sherrill (Junior 138) led all area wrestlers, winning seven matches to place sixth in Freestyle at USAW Northwest Regionals held March 23-24 at the Northwest Sportshub.
After losing in the second round, Sherill won six straight consolation matches to make it into the fifth-sixth place match, where he officially placed sixth out of 42 wrestlers. Overall, Sherrill finished 7-3, winning three matches by pin and four by technical fall.
Sandpoint’s Dominic Ratigan (14U 149) and Aidan Rork (Junior 113) also participated in the tournament. Ratigan finished fourth in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman, notching one win in each style. Rork won one match in Freestyle. Bonners Ferry’s Taylor Dodd (16U 285) was fourth in Freestyle, picking up two wins by technical fall.
