Yvonne Kirsten Blalack, 70

Yvonne Kirsten Blalack, 70, passed away at her home Friday, April 19, 2024, in Hope, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Yvonne was born May 7, 1953 in Bergen, Norway to John and Elisabeth Nordrehaug. When she was 3, Yvonne’s family moved to San Diego, Calif. After high school she went to work for Blalack Portrait Studios, taking school pictures. 

She married David Blalack 42 years ago and they made their home in Laguna Niguel, Calif. They enjoyed spending summers at their home in Hope, Idaho, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.

Yvonne enjoyed traveling, gardening, photography, and winters in Palm Springs. She also had a great group of lady friends in Hope.

She is survived by her brother Roald (Kathy) Nordrehaug of Escondido, Calif.; two nephews Kyle (April) Nordrehaug of La Jolla, Calif., and Luke (Julianne) Nordrehaug of Encinitas, Calif.; and one niece Holly (Kurt) Roblek of Shelton, Wash. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David Blalack, in 2016.
