ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Gavin Griesmer, Priest River Track & Field

This week's athlete of the week is Gavin Griesmer of Priest River Track & Field.

Gavin, a sophomore, won the boys' javelin at the District 1 Meet of Champions held at Post Falls High on Thursday after throwing a new personal best mark of 144 feet and four inches. Gavin's throw ranks first in the state's 2A classification and first in Priest River school history. He has improved his throw by over 30 feet since the start of the season.
