Community invited to Nonprofit Fair
PRIEST RIVER — Often much of the hard work in the region's towns is carried out by an enthusiastic and passionate group of neighbors who work tirelessly to take care of the heart and soul of our communities.
A collection of these nonprofit leaders and volunteers want to celebrate this important work and all the good that is happening in Priest River and Newport by inviting the community's residents to meet them at the West Bonner/Newport Nonprofit Fair on Saturday, May 18.
“Nonprofits do so much of the heavy lifting in our community and we’d love the chance to share our stories, meet more of our community members, and encourage others to get involved as volunteers or as donors,” said member benefits coordinator, Jennae Pegg of the Priest River Chamber of Commerce. “That’s why we are co-hosting, along with Innovia Foundation, our first Nonprofit Fair.”
This free open house event will take place at The Rex Theater in Priest River from noon to 4 p.m. where 16 nonprofits will be on hand to share their missions and visions with the community.
“As the region’s community foundation, we know that each nonprofit organization has the power to make a lasting impact,” Dig Chrismer, Innovia’s North Region rural engagement manager, said. “Nonprofits enrich our lives and help our communities thrive through education supports, arts and culture programs, quality of life initiatives, health and wellbeing services, and economic opportunities. On May 18, get to know your nonprofit neighbors better, learn how you can get involved, and ultimately help support them in their work.”
