Gary Franklin Britton, 88

Gary Franklin Britton passed away April 3, 2024, and now rests in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Gary was a blessed saint and follower of Jesus. He was a member and active in the music ministry at Southside Community Church where he masterfully played guitar with the choir. 

Gary, son of Franklin Britton and Vivian Johnson, was born March 10, 1936, in Brainerd, Minn. Gary was one of eight children including brothers Clyde, Wayne, David, Bert, Vern, Lynn and sister Vina.

Gary served his country in the United States Army as a field artillery repairman. He was honorably discharged, and the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, after three years of service. He retired from a career as a firefighter and EMT in Burien, Wash. 

Gary is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda, of Coeur d Alene, Idaho. He is also survived by three children, Dale Britton, Guy Britton, and Carrie Burnside, all of western Washington; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  

Please join Gary’s family and friends at a memorial service in his honor to be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at Southside Community Church, 251 Cocolalla Loop Road, Cocolalla, Idaho.
