Lions set Fourth of July parade theme
SANDPOINT — Somehow, 2024 is almost halfway over and Independence Day celebrations are already right around the corner.
This year, the Sandpoint Lions Club — which hosts the city’s annual Fourth of July parade — is paying homage to Sandpoint’s roots with its theme for the upcoming festivities.
“Sandpoint has a rich history as a timber town, and we would like to take this opportunity to honor our past and present contributions of the logging industry to our community,” Sandpoint Lions officials said in an announcement.
The theme for the parade will be “Back to Our Roots,” remembering the hard workers who molded the community that Sandpoint knows today.
Additionally, the Lions Club announced its 2024 grand marshalls — Shirley Stevens and Norma Laude.
“We invite you to join us in this celebration and pay tribute to our heritage,” Lions said.
The Lions are still accepting applications for those looking to participate in the parade. A fee of $45 is required to apply.
