2A STATE GOLF: Coleman shoots his way to state title

WORLEY — Priest River junior Palmer Coleman won the state 2A boys tournament, finishing with a 7-over-par 151 for 36 holes at Circling Raven Golf Club.

The Lady Spartans were also in action after winning the District 1-2 title last week. Pavin Coleman finished tied for 32nd out of 62 with a total of 220 for 36 holes. Paityn Yount was tied for 54th (248), Brooklyn Best and Aleigha Jensen tied for 57th (253).

Compass Charter of Meridian won the boys team title with a team score of 691.

Ambrose’s Ashley Von Behren won the girls title with a 151, leading the Archers of Meridian to their second straight team championship.
