Hutchings is the candidate we need in Boise

| May 16, 2024 1:00 AM

The endorsements proffered by the Bonner County Republican Central Committee is driven by “Fight Club,” a Christian political group that has already proven unconstitutional activity, so much so, that two “Fight Club” members expressed discomfort in the BCRCC/”Fight Club” vetting activities. Further, the BCRCC pushed out five longstanding conservative Republicans from their ranks to obtain endorsement unity. In return the BCRCC is subject to losing five to 10 BCRCC precinct committee seats to RINOs, you’ll find the RINO names, weekly, on page two of a local weekly newspaper. I cite all this to say the BCRCC endorsements have lost immense credibility.

Spencer Hutchings is conservative to the core. Hutchings, without a 2022 BCRCC endorsement, lost to the incumbent by 726 votes in a five-party race, with 3,650 votes obtained by Republicans placing third through fifth. Support of Hutchings, in Boundary and Bonner counties, remains solid.

What’s not realized by voters is that the current endorsed candidate only received a couple of votes during the onset of BCRCC endorsement procedure seven to eight months ago. The top-voted candidate medically withdrew.  The second-rated candidate, an LPOSD trustee felt “betrayed” and did not return to the BCRCC endorsement process.

Further, two candidates were nominated to replace BCRCC treasurer Hutchings nine months ago. Jane Sauter could only obtain one vote in a two-person race. I nominated the other BCRCC treasurer candidate. The current BCRCC-endorsed candidate’s electability is founded on the BCRCC/”Fight Club” endorsement. On her own, the history of several votes, demonstrates she falls well short of Spencer Hutching’s electability.
