Mark Sauter works hard for N. Idaho

| May 16, 2024 1:00 AM

This is the season for campaign mailers. My husband and I must be on the preferred list.

We recently received a mailer from Jane Sauter with some claims that merit attention. She claims Mark Sauter has failed to represent our values. I decided to investigate this further.

Since I have concerns about the immigration crisis, I investigated Jane's allegation. I found Mark Sauter had voted for the immigration bill (SJM 102) that passed through the House and was signed into law.

Jane point that he had voted against holding our federal government accountable was wrong. Over 20 other Republican representatives joined Mark when he voted against the inflammatory HJM 11.

Mark voted for a better bill and it passed. He was joined by over 50 House Republicans when he voted for SJM 102. Apparently, there is more to representing our area than simply voting for a bill that doesn’t pass or do anything.

I have found Mark to be a thoughtful representative for our District. He has held several meet and greets and writes articles for our newspapers. I have spoken with him and found there is sound reasoning behind his votes. We just have to have some patience to listen and understand the whole picture.

My husband and I will be voting for Mark on May 21, he represents us well and works hard for us.
