Prosecutor's office hiring new witness coordinator
SANDPOINT — The Bonner County commissioners approved to pay for the benefits of a new Prosecutor’s Office position after the office received a three-year grant.
Bonner County HR generalist Alissa Clark told the board that with this grant, the Prosecutor’s Office is hoping to hire another felony victim witness coordinator. This position would be paid $52,000 a year, Clark said.
The office is requesting that the county cover the cost of this position’s benefits until the grant ends.
“For the remainder of this year, it’ll be $6,000,” she said. “But going forward, it will be $18,200 annually.”
The balance of this year’s benefit cost can be paid out of the Prosecutor’s budget, but the next few years will need funding from a different source, Clark said.
The coverage of the benefits for this new position was unanimously approved by the commissioners.
