West Bonner superintendent finalists announced
PRIEST RIVER — West Bonner has announced two finalists for its superintendent position.
Named as finalists are Dr. Robbie Swint Jr., who has been in charge of supervisory training management for the Department of Defense at Fort Meade, Md., and Kim Spacek, superintendent at Mountain View School District in Grangeville.
Staff and community members will be introduced to Swint and Spacek next month through a series of meet and greets June 3, followed by district tours and board interviews June 4.
Swint will be introduced to staff at a meet-and-greet at 4:30 p.m. June 3. A meet-and-greet will be held for Spacek with staff at 5 p.m. June 3. Both of the staff meet-and-greet sessions will be held in the Priest River Lamanna High School library.
Following the staff sessions, community residents will have a chance to meet both Swint and Spacek later that evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. The community meet-and-greet session will take place in the PRLHS cafeteria.
On June 4, there will be a two-hour district tour with Swint starting at 10 a.m., followed by a tour with Spacek.
The board is slated to meet at 5 p.m. with an interview with Swint set for 5:15 p.m., followed by an interview with Spacek at 6:40 p.m. Trustees are slated to go into executive session at 8 p.m. to discuss the potential hiring of a superintendent.
Locations for the June 4 event have not yet been set, school district officials said.
In addition to his time at Fort Meade, Swint served as superintendent at the Unalaska School District in Alaska from 2021 to 2022, and principal at North Slope Borough City School in Barrow, Alaska, from 2018 to 2020.
Swint earned his bachelor's degree in middle school math and social studies at Kennesaw State University in Georgia; his master's in curriculum and instruction at the University of Phoenix; and his doctorate in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University.
Before serving as superintendent at Mountain View, Spacek served as superintendent at Inchelium School District in Washington state from 2013 to 2023. Before that, he served as superintendent and elementary principal at Pomeroy School District from 2008 to 2013.
Spacek earned his bachelor's degree in education (industrial arts) from Eastern Washington University before earning a master's degree in industrial education at the University of Idaho. He earned a master's degree in principal administration from Eastern Washington University.
