Panida, organizations present scholarships
This year, the Panida Theater was among a group of over 70 organizations that presented scholarships to local graduating seniors at Sandpoint High School’s annual scholarship night May 21.
That night over 60 of these groups awarded 279 scholarships, while eight other groups will be giving separate recognition to their scholarship winners.
The Panida announced two recipients of The Panida Theater/Laurel Wagers Memorial Scholarship this year. Two outstanding seniors were chosen to receive these scholarship awards to assist in continuing their education in the arts. Ethan Schwenk was awarded $1,000 and Aidan Bates received $500 to help them in their artistic endeavors moving forward.
Overall, 83 seniors submitted over 1356 applications, garnering scholarships valued at over $290,000.
On top of all that, this year the community is also awarding an additional $73,000 to students already in college or trade school.
"Kudos to our community and to all our outstanding graduates," Tari Pardini, Panida volunteer and scholarship committee member.
