PEO chapter awards scholarship

Julie Smith, left, presents Lillian Giles with a $1,000 scholarship from PEO Chapter V, P.E.O. Each year, the chapter selects one outstanding Sandpoint High School senior girl to receive its Chapter V Award Girl Scholarship. Giles plans to attend Boise State University and major in nursing. She wants to become a surgical nurse, specializing in PICU. Smith, a member of the Projects Committee of Chapter V, is a retired SHS teacher. P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization that supports women in pursuing their education.
