ALL-SIC VOLLEYBALL: Clark Fork’s Lane grabs league honors
ALL-LEAGUE: Aurora Lane
In the Lady Cats' first year in Idaho's 2A classification and first year the Scenic Idaho Conference, junior setter and pin hitter Aurora Lane led Clark Fork's 6-2 offense this season. Lane posted multiple double-digit assist and ace tallies this season, including 17 aces in a win over Mullan, 18 aces and 12 assists in a win over Kootenai, and 15 assists in the Lady's Cats homecoming game against Lakeside. It was Lane's third year on varsity and first year as a varsity co-captain. Clark Fork High head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said Lane is one of the most elite servers she has ever coached and possesses the ability to spot serve effectively with her jump serve.
Notes from coach Kiebert-Carey: "Aurora Lane represents our program well in every sense. She gives her all on the court and keeps an encouraging tone even when passers are struggling and making her job very difficult. She is a leader in huddles and quick to take ownership over her mistakes. She celebrates her teammates' successes before her own. She's also a committed student. I'm so glad that the coaches in our new league recognized her hard work and how she led our team this season."
