Bag a new purse at CASA fundraiser
Looking for a new purse? Or want to help one you no longer use find a good home?
The solutions to both dilemmas can be found at North Idaho CASA's annual Purse Party, slated for Thursday, Nov. 14.
The Pend d'Oreille Winery Tasting Room will host the annual fundraiser, which will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14. The event, supported by Sandpoint women for nearly 20 years, will feature hundreds of handbags for purchase and silent auction items. Guests can enjoy appetizers and wine while shopping, sponsored by Finan McDonald.
New this year is an exchange table where attendees can swap handbags. The organization also announced that retired Judge Lori Muhlenberg has joined the North Idaho CASA Board of Directors.
CASA provides trained advocates for more than 240 child abuse and neglect victims in North Idaho. Advocates investigate child protection cases, represent children's interests in court and assist with family reunification or transitions into permanent homes. For many older children, CASA advocates may be their only stable adult connections.
In Bonner and Boundary counties, 21 advocates serve 79 children from 47 families. Through donations and fundraisers like the Purse Party, CASA recruits, trains and supports advocates to ensure every child victim has a voice in court.
The organization offers resources and outreach programs for foster youth beyond the courtroom. Donations help improve the lives of children who have experienced trauma.
Finan McDonald and Style Bar are local partners for 2024 Purse Drop locations. For more information about the event, other CASA programs, volunteer opportunities or becoming an advocate, visit northidahocasda.org.
