CROSS COUNTRY HONORS: Lamanna, Kent, Lovin named to District 1 Dirty Dozen
Those named to the "Dirty Dozen" list are regarded as District 1's best performing runners across all six of Idaho's classifications.
ALL-DISTRICT: Ian Lamanna
A senior at Priest River High, Lamanna was the only 3A runner to be named to the All-District team between both boys and girls. Lamanna broke the school record numerous times this season; his best time came at the Inland Empire Championships hosted by Lewis-Clark State College where he finished third out of 95 runners in 15 minutes and 42 seconds. Lamanna took home three individual titles wins this year: Bonners Ferry Invite (17:04), Ben Castro Invitational (16:08), and the 3A Central Idaho League district championship (16:10). Additionally, Lamanna also posted top finishes at the Libby Invitational (Sixth out of 96, 16:15), the renowned Bob Firman Invite (Fifth out of 356 in Division II, 16:18), and at the 3A state championship (Fourth out of 98, 16:25) to finish off a spectacular season — one of the best in Priest River history.
ALL-DISTRICT: Jack Lovin
A Sandpoint High sophomore, Lovin had a breakthrough year, winning the 5A Inland Empire League district title with a new personal record time of 16 minutes and 39 seconds — a performance that ultimately helped the Bulldogs capture the team title. Lovin was 14th at the Libby Invitational (16:53) and after a short hiatus, bounced back to place 84th out of 181 runners (17:01) amongst a stacked field at the Battle for the 509 Invitational. Lovin then finished of the season by placing 22nd out of 105 runners at the 5A state championship with a time of 16 minutes and 51 seconds.
