Parents have right to control children's access to media
Sorry, Ms. Palmer, parents should and do have a right to control what minors have access to. Especially school libraries. While you defend this material and paint this as a censorship or book-banning crime, others are simply concerned about a minor’s health and well-being having access to these materials.
Regarding “Lawn Boy,” even the author said it was never meant for school libraries. That book is mild compared to other perverted books that have slipped into school systems.
Ms. Palmer gets queer ideology wrong. Queer ideology in a nutshell is the radical view that attempts to push back against established norms of sexuality and gender identity. The issue isn’t about tolerance, respect, or kindness, but indoctrination, confusion, and a minor’s health and mental well-being. Just consider the rapid rise of gender dysphoria. The queer agenda is not satisfied with just tolerance and respect but demands acceptance and affirmation of abnormal sexual behavior and lifestyles. Access to these deviant materials furthers that agenda and kids are the target.
There seems to be a real moral disconnect between most Americans and an education establishment broadly convinced that it’s good, necessary and “inclusive” to show children explicit depictions of sexual acts. Someone needs to remind Ms. Palmer that her job is to teach, not worry about kids having access to a sex-based ideology. That, my dear, is not what we are paying you for.
