Nov. 24, 1974 – 4-Hers WIN TOP AWARDS
Carol Klippstein, a member of the Rocky Mountain Rovers 4-H club, and Debra Gornick, a member of the Hoodoo Hustlers, took top placing in their respective divisions at the recent 4-H District Demonstration Contests; Sharon Biss, Bear Paw 4-H [Priest River], won a purple ribbon. At the District Style Revue, Bonner County purple ribbon winners included Debbie Gillespie, Jacque Meneely, Mary Kay Delay, Cindy Finney, Polly Hawkins, Carol Klippstein, Betsy Cork and Brenda LaGrace. Jeanie Coy and Tammy Graves received gold ribbons.

FOOTBALL STANDOUTS
Final team statistics on the 1974 Sandpoint Bulldogs show some strong individual performers, despite the team’s 1-8 season record. Paul Klatt, who compiled 569 total yards over the year, was also the team’s leading rusher, running for 539 yards in 83 carries for a 6.5 yards per carry average. Klatt was followed closely in total yardage by Dan Lyons, who had an offensive total of 521 yards. Lyons also led the team in passing yardage, gaining 427 yards on 88 aerials, completing 39. Leading receiver was 6-4 Mike Hagadone, who hauled in 27 tosses for 437 yards. Hagadone also led the squad in scoring, with five touchdowns and two point-afters for 32 points. Senior Mike Roberts connected on 11 extra-point kicks and one field goal for a total of 14 points in the kicking game.

Nov. 24, 1949 – COURT OF HONOR MONDAY
Monday at 7:30 at the Elks temple, high scouting awards will be bestowed on three Sandpoint scouts, members of troops sponsored by Kiwanis and Elks. Scout Bruce Wendle will receive the eagle award, highest in scouting. Receiving their life scout awards will be Gordon Roberts and Douglas Schedler. A number of other awards will be presented to various members of the two troops. A lunch will be served and dancing has been arranged as entertainment.

ANITA BEAUCHAMP TO CHICAGO MEETING
Miss Anita Beauchamp,15, Selle Livestock 4-H club, was selected by the state 4-H committee to represent Bonner county at the national 4-H club congress in Chicago Nov. 27 - Dec. 3. Miss Beauchamp [later Mrs. Charles Schoonover] was chosen for outstanding 4-H achievement in nutrition, animal husbandry and canning. In Chicago, she will meet 4-Hers from every state in the Union, England, Portugal, Canada and South American countries.
