Create announces Holiday Artist Shop

Create Art Center is preparing for the nonprofit's annual Holiday Artist Shop. 

At the event, more than 20 artists in diverse mediums will present their work for sale at the four-day event. The annual event will be held Dec. 5-8 at Create Art Center, 900 W. Fourth St., Newport.

The shop will be open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday, Dec. 5-7; and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 8, 10 to 3. 

This event features diverse art mediums, including pottery, Kimekomi ornaments, fiber and fabric arts, wood bowls, Wild Women of the Woods characters, visual arts, copper and tin art jewelry, and more. 

In addition, there will be refreshments and live music with Rick Hiller on Friday, Ben Kardos on Saturday, and Joanne Heinz on Thursday and Sunday. 

Proceeds from the Holiday Shop supports community creatives and helps grow the variety of local opportunities, Create officials sai. Shopping locally enhances our region by developing jobs and supporting entrepreneurs.


Christmas on Main Street set for Monday

The community is invited to come enjoy the 36th annual Christmas on Main Street on Monday, Dec. 2.

The event will be held from 3-7 p.m. at the Priest River Library. Residents should bring their camera to get pictures with Santa.

There will be free kids books, toys and crafts, hot cocoa, and food will be in the library conference room. Area youth can also enter a raffle for a chance to win a new bicycle.

Christmas on Main Street is brought to the community by the West Bonner Library District and sponsored by the Priest River Community Foundation.


Laclede hosting tree lighting

LACLEDE — To kick off the holiday season, Laclede will be hosting a Christmas tree lighting and Village Market on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Area residents are invited to come visit with Santa, enjoy hot cocoa, listen to live music and stroll through the Village Market at the event, set for 3-6 p.m. at the Laclede Community Center, 24 Moore Loop Road.

A free shopping spree will be given away; winners must be present to claim the prize.

The event is brought to the community by the Laclede Community Center and Idaho Forest Group.


Christmas in Coolin packed with holiday fun

COOLIN — Holiday festivities will fill the Coolin area this weekend with a variety of family-centered fun to kick off the holiday season.

Christmas in Coolin will be held on the next three Saturdays, Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 with a variety of events held each weekend.

There will be cookie decorating, ornament making and Santa will visit with area children at the Coolin Community Center from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Priest Lake Library is offering free gift-wrapping supplies and holiday card-making materials throughout December. The library will also host Christmas craft sessions on Fridays at 10 a.m.

The Inn at Priest Lake, partnering with the Lions Club, will feature children's crafts, face painting, and a wine pull Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Popcorn will be available for $1, and raffles will be held.

Multiple additional locations are featuring a variety of holiday fun as well.
