| October 1, 2024 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Dozens of North Idaho businesses, education specialists, college representatives and career technical spokespeople are hosting a two-hour seminar to share post-graduation opportunities for all students.

“All Things Senior” event Oct. 8 is designed to provide comprehensive support and guidance to high school seniors as they prepare for life after graduation. Students from any school district, private or charter school, or homeschoolers are invited to Sandpoint High School from 5 to 7 p.m.

Organizers are committed to helping all students discover and pursue their best options for life after high school.

Students will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from various military branches, community colleges, in-state and out-of-state universities, as well as other on-the-job training options. With over 30 post-secondary options available, students will be able to explore a wide range of opportunities and make meaningful connections.

In addition to the post-secondary options, the event will feature informative sessions on how to apply to college, navigate the financial aid process, secure scholarships and learn about Idaho Launch.

According to North Idaho Higher Education (NIHE) and Lake Pend Oreille School District, these sessions are aimed at providing students with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully transition to the next phase of their education and career journey.

While the event is primarily tailored for seniors, students from all grades and schools are welcome to attend. Interested students and parents can find more information about All Things Senior and other upcoming events on the NIHE website, northidahohighereducation.org, or call Jeralyn Mire, SHS post-secondary transition counselor at 263-3034, ext. 4021.
