Panida board members sought

SANDPOINT — The Panida Theater is seeking community members for both its board of directors and as committee volunteers.

Creative and enthusiastic community members are sought to help ensure the Panida remains a unique historic and art-deco venue for generations to come. The theater plays host to everything from live concerts and classic and current movies to theatrical productions, and community arts organizations.

"By giving time and energy Board members help grow a nurturing environment," board member Donna Guthrie said. "Here children learn to creatively cooperate in productions that build memories, pride and skills. On our stage children of Sandpoint have gone on to be nationally known artists. For decades well known performers have filled our auditorium with applause."

Board members will help craft decisions that affect the arts community for many years, as well as be part of the theater's 100th anniversary celebration.

"Fiber optics connecting art theaters across the world, new digital technology, coupled with creative restoration techniques will ensure that the Panida remains a historic gem, drawing great performers and patrons, not just from North Idaho but from the entire Northwest," Guthrie said.
