KELLOGG — At Teeters Field, juniors Conrad Hiatt and Keenan Maas combined for 437 rushing yards and five total touchdowns as the visiting Badgers scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter en route to a 42-22 win over the host Wildcats on Friday.

Maas led the charge, carrying the pigskin 32 times for a career-high 295 yards and three touchdowns while Hiatt rushed 11 times for a season-high 142 yards and two scores. Sulay Abubakari, also a junior, paced the Badgers with a 19-yard receiving touchdown. Senior quarterback Brody Rice was 3-for-5 passing for 39 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 14 yards.

On defense, five different players recorded sacks for Bonners Ferry. Hiatt recorded a sack for a 3-yard loss, junior Devin Sceppe one for a 10-yard loss, junior Daric Vincent, who had a team-high seven tackles, one for a 20-yard loss, senior Thomas Hoggan, who also had a fumble recovery, one for a 7-yard loss, and senior Logan Thorne one for an 8-yard loss. Sophomore Alex Stolley, who also had 12 receiving yards and six tackles, hauled in an interception.

“It was a great game; the kids played hard — Kellogg is always a tough opponent,” Bonners Ferry High head coach Danny Swift said. “Our offensive line paved the way and kept grinding, their gas tanks in the second half were key to our victory. Our defense really rallied around the five sacks from the front seven.”

Bonners Ferry (3-3) travels to Moscow on Friday.
