Oct. 6, 1974 – NEW ENGINEER IN TOWN

Dave Welch, a Sandpoint resident for two years, has opened a new surveying and engineering firm. He plans to work in consulting engineering and land surveying in Sandpoint, specializing in residential and area sewer systems and timber access roads. Dave and his wife, Charlotte, have a son, Sean, age 4, and a daughter, Katherine, five months.

KIWANIS INSTALLS OFFICERS

Dale Sanner was master of ceremonies when the Sandpoint Kiwanis club installed officers and began its new year with a dinner in the Elks dining room. Tom Robideaux is the new club president; Jim Reed is first vice president; Jim Tinsman is second v-p. Outgoing president Tom Wilson was presented with a plaque recognizing him for outstanding leadership.

BELWOOD – DECKER EXCHANGE VOWS

Wedding vows were exchanged by Mrs. Neta Belwood of Laclede and LeRoy Decker of Sandpoint on Sept. 28 in Coeur d’Alene. Attendants for the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Myron Power of Colburn. Also witnessing the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Chet Howell, Jr. of Sandpoint and Mrs. Mickey Poppino of Post Falls. Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Poppino are daughters of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Decker will reside in Laclede. She is employed by Bonner Land Title Co. in Sandpoint and he works for Pack River Lumber Co. at Colburn.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pennington arrived here from Ogden, Utah, to spend the winter. Presently, they are the house guests of his brother and family, the Charles Penningtons.

PARSONS TO HEAD SHS STUDENT BODY

Bob Parsons, high school senior, was elected president of the student body in a spirited campaign between two parties Monday. His running mates on the Student party were also elected: Walter Hardin as vice president and Kay Robinson, secretary.

SURPRISE PARTY FOR MRS. RACICOT

As a surprise, friends gathered at the home of Mrs. Ray [Gertrude] Racicot Tuesday, bringing gifts and a beautiful cake in honor of her birthday. A pleasant social time was enjoyed. The unexpected guests were Mrs. Fred [Clara] Holz, Mrs. S. [Ruby] Holderness, Mrs. Walter [Gertrude] Mountjoy, Mrs. E.A. [Jessie] Blair, Mrs. Hans [Lettie] Boeck, Mrs. Lewis [Mary] Harro and Miss Catherine Racicot.

WILL STUDY X-RAY

Miss Pearl O’Donnell, a bookkeeper and receptionist at Bonner General hospital since her resignation as executive chairman of the local Red Cross, has accepted a position with North Idaho Clinic as X-ray and laboratory technician. She will leave shortly for Spokane where she will enroll in a training course to fit her for her new work.
