NIC Homecoming week starts Oct. 16

North Idaho College Athletics is hosting a homecoming week Wednesday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 19 at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus.
The festivities, sponsored by the North Idaho College Booster Club, begin Wednesday, Oct. 16, with Men’s and Women’s Basketball Madness at 6 p.m. at the Christianson Gymnasium. Fans will be introduced to the players and coaches, view skills demonstrations and scrimmages, and watch three-point and dunk contests. NIC students in attendance will have a chance to win a $500 scholarship, while community members and kids can also win prizes.
The NIC women’s soccer team will face off against Snow College at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Eisenwinter Field, followed by the men’s soccer team against Snow College at 3:30 p.m. NIC volleyball will take on Colorado Northwestern Community College at 6 p.m. at the Christianson Gym.
The annual Alumni wrestling dual will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at the Christianson Gymnasium.
Homecoming week will culminate on Saturday, Oct. 19, with a full day of games, all free and open to the public. The NIC women’s soccer team will play Utah State University Eastern at 11 a.m. at Eisenwinter Field, followed by the volleyball team facing Salt Lake Community College at noon at the Christianson Gymnasium. The men’s soccer team will face Utah State University Eastern at 1:30 p.m. at Eisenwinter Field.
A free barbecue will be held in front of Christianson Gym at 3:30 p.m., with food available on a first-come, first-served basis. The day will conclude with the Wrestling Red vs. Gray Duals at 6 p.m. at Christianson Gymnasium.
Special edition Homecoming 2024 shirts will be available at the women’s soccer game, while supplies last.
