Play auditions are set

Auditions for "Merry Christmas Mr. Marconi" are scheduled for next week.

Auditions will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at The Create Arts Center, 900 W. Fourth St., Newport, Wash.; and Tuesday, Oct. 15, at The Blanchard Community Center, 685 Rusho Lane, Blanchard, Idaho.

Auditioners will read from the script.

Rex Theater receives $15K grant

Foundation for the Rex Theater officials have been advised the theater has received a $15,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation with matching funds from the Marcus Anderson Family Foundation.

Officials said they are excited about the grant, which will fund a year-long project resulting in a master plan for the next stages of the extensive restoration of this historic building.
