PREP ROUNDUP: Trio of Sandpoint XC runners help Bulldogs to fifth at Live Nation Invite

QUINCY, Wash. — Kai Budensiek, Wyatt Lemon, and Jack Lovin finished back-to-back-to-back as Sandpoint’s boys placed fifth out of 11 teams in the Large School Division at the Live Nation Invitational held Thursday at the Gorge Ampitheater.
Budensiek was 20th in 17 minutes and 54 seconds, Lemon 21st in 17 minutes and 55 seconds, Lovin 22nd, also in 17 minutes and 55 seconds. Trace Evans was 31st (18:16) and Hobbes Conley 38th (18:44) to round out the Bulldogs’ top five.
On the girls’ side, Elizabeth Storms paced Sandpoint to a sixth place team finish out of 10 scoring teams, running to a time of 22 minutes and 8 seconds and placing 22nd. Gracie Maltby was 24th (22:10), Sienna Todd-Murray 26th (22:19), Hannah Ricks 33rd (22:37), Abby Eldore 34th (22:41) as the Lady Bulldogs posted an impressive scoring spread of just 31 seconds.
Sandpoint returns to action Oct. 24 for the 5A District 1-2 Championship at Farragut State Park in Athol.

NEWPORT — Junior Jayda Storro led Priest River with 11 assists, nine kills, and a block, but the visiting Lady Spartans fell in four sets (18-25, 15-25, 25-22, 23-25) to the host Lady Grizzles on Thursday.
On offense, senior Paityn Yount and junior Aleigha Jensen both posted three aces, senior Desi Humphrey registered six kills, and sophomore Callie Stanger dished out seven assists. Junior Toni Marinello added eight digs, Jensen a block, on defense.
Priest River (8-6) hosts Grangeville on Saturday.
