Coach Love passes on basketball knowledge abroad

| October 11, 2024 1:00 AM

Full catpion: Sandpoint High head girls' basketball coach Will Love recently traveled to Kenmare, Ireland where he helped coach the U18 Kenmare Kestrels boys' basketball team alongside James Weldon, Ireland women's national team coach, and John Adams, chairperson and coach of the Kenmare Kestrels, which has several different teams. The trio was finally able to meet up after their plans fizzled out a couple of years ago due to extenuating circumstances. Love is no stranger to coaching on the international level, having coached in Iceland in the past. He had the idea of reaching out to coaches for his podcast, 'Idaho Basketball Coaching", which features high school, collegiate, and club coaches from all over the nation. Although bummed about only being able to help James and John with one practice, Love said he enjoyed the experience and looks forward to future coaching opportunities on the international level.
