LEWISTON — Priest River High’s Brayden Lamanna just can’t stop breaking records, this time, the senior ran a blazing 5,000-meter time of 15 minutes and 42 seconds and finished third out of 95 runners at the Inland Empire Challenge held Saturday at Lewis-Clark State College.

Lamanna bested his time of 16 minutes and eight seconds set last week at the Ben Castro Invitational in Pinehurst.

Bonners Ferry High senior Ethan Cowell finished 26th with a time of 17 minutes and 34 seconds for the Badgers, which placed 11th out of 13 scoring teams.

On the girls’ side, Sydney Beckle was 10th out of 69 runners for the Lady Badgers. Junior Matisyn Stern (20:44) and freshman Kylie Calderone (20:45) finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th to help Bonners Ferry to fourth place finish out of nine scoring teams.

Priest River competes again on Oct. 19 at the River Rams Invite set to be held at Riverside State Park. Bonners Ferry will head to the 4A District 1-2 Championship on Oct. 24 at Farragut State Park.
