Ranked choice voting is a terrible idea

Proposition 1 isn't about open primaries. It's really about ranked choice voting.

Most people aren't opposed to open primaries. However, Proposition 1 is bundled with ranked choice voting. Reclaim Idaho doesn't emphasize this for a reason. A vote for open primaries is a vote for both initiatives and ranked choice voting is a terrible idea. Notice who supports it — Democrats and liberal “Republicans.”

Idaho Democrats aren't winning elections because their ideas aren't popular. So what's the modern Democrat's response to unpopular ideas? Change the election rules! Ranked choice voting is their attempt to change the rules. It's very complicated, and I've yet to hear a good explanation of how it works.

Tell Democrats that to win elections, they need better and more popular ideas. If they want open primaries, unbundle the initiatives and vote on open primaries as a single issue.

Don't be a dope, just vote nope on Prop 1, the Open Primaries Initiative.
