Your Health Idaho enrollment begins

| October 15, 2024 1:00 AM

Open enrollment for health insurance in Idaho begins today Oct. 15.

Idahoans can enroll in 2025 medical and dental coverage through Your Health Idaho, the state's health insurance marketplace. The marketplace has added enhancements to improve customer experience and new self-service tools. Idahoans can use a single application to apply for a tax credit and health insurance and find out their tax credit amount within seconds.

Thirteen insurance carriers are offering 149 medical and 24 dental plans. Humana is offering dental plans on the marketplace for the first time. Each county offers at least four carriers, with most offering six to eight.

Idahoans currently enrolled through Your Health Idaho are automatically renewed for 2025 but should review their plans.

"While medical costs continue to drive premium increases, tax credits are designed to lessen the financial impact on consumers," said Pat Kelly, Your Health Idaho executive director.

Nine out of 10 current enrollees receive a tax credit for monthly premiums. Many also qualify for Cost-Sharing Reductions on Silver plans, lowering co-pays, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums.

YourHealthIdaho.org offers a tax credit calculator and an employer-sponsored coverage affordability estimator.

Certified agents and brokers can help Idahoans choose plans and maximize savings at no cost. Find local experts at YourHealthIdaho.org/find-help.

"We want to make the process as easy as possible," Kelly said. "We recommend working with a certified agent or broker who can walk them through the application and plan selection."

Open Enrollment runs Oct. 15-Dec. 16. Those who don't enroll by Dec. 16 must wait until next October unless they experience a qualifying life event.

Idahoans must pick their plan by 11:59 p.m. Dec. 16, 2024. Coverage begins Jan. 1, 2025.
