YMCA hosting open house today

Come on in for a visit.

That's the message that Litehouse YMCA wants to send as it is opening its doors to the entire community — free of charge — at a special open house today.

In addition to the chance to learn about what the Y has to offer, the open house gives the Y staff a chance to celebrate the community with plenty of fun activities for the whole family. There will be games and prizes, arts and crafts and carnival fun.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In order to participate in activities, people will need to bring photo identification.

The event is a chance for community members who are not members of the Y to see what it is all about, about the programs offered and to learn more about the facility and its programs, YMCA officials said.

During the event, a membership special will be offered. For those joining online, there will be no joining meeting. Those joining will have a chance to win three months free.

Now approaching the completion of its sixth year – the Litehouse YMCA opened Dec. 1, 2018 — the facility took over the former Sandpoint West Athletic Club.
