Clifford Hull, 87

| October 19, 2024 1:00 AM

Clifford Roy Hull, age 87, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at his home in Kootenai, Idaho.

Born on April 18, 1937, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Benjamin David and Nina Delight (Hartman) Hull, he lived a life rich in love and adventure.

He married Helen E. Davis, his soulmate, Sept. 1, 1956, in Thompson Falls, Mont. Their 64 years of marriage were filled with deep affection and countless shared experiences as they raised their family in the home he built in Kootenai Bay, Idaho.

Clifford had a profound passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, camping, and fishing, particularly for Kokanee on Lake Koocanusa and his remarkable 24 lb. Kamloop catch on Pend Oreille Lake. He shared this love for lake life with his family, extending it to his great-great-grandchildren. A devoted gardener, he spent each fall helping Helen can their harvest, ensuring their home was always welcoming, with a well-stocked pantry. Visitors often left with delicious treats from their kitchen, and he was known for giving everyone he loved a fitting nickname.

Clifford was a talented carpenter and woodworker, spending many days in the woods collecting firewood with his family. He dedicated much of his life to working in local lumber mills and dams, later enjoying a position at the Bonner Mall after retirement.

He is survived by his children: Darlene (Kevin) Sawyer, Marcus Hull, Rosalind (Mike) Crone, Cliff (Chris) Hull, and Austin (Lynn) Hull. His legacy of love continues through 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Helen; daughter Mae Delight Hull; great-granddaughter Ellie Christine Netzloff; twin brother Wilford; and siblings Jack, Vivian, Irene, Alma, Della, Milo, David, and Norene.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a remembrance and celebration of Clifford's life Nov. 2, 2024, at his residence from noon to 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite dish and share cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Bonner Community Hospice
