Prop 1 is ranked choice voting by another name

| October 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Proposition 1 is actually ranked choice voting as enacted in the state of Alaska. It is a disaster for conservative voters because after the initial open vote (which in itself is a great idea) the votes are ranked, and then recounted. This enables the losers to move up the list of selections. In Alaska, this resulted in a liberal candidate being elected in their conservative state.

This selection process can happen up to three times, enabling the less desirable candidate in the first rounds of voting to ultimately become selected as the people's representative in Congress in the final count.

Needless to say, Idahoans enjoy our conservative values and lifestyle.

Let us not forfeit them to some back-door method of inaccurate representation in Congress.

Vote no on Proposition 1.
