Voters must take stand against extremism, fear

| October 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Now it is time for everyone, wherever they are on the political spectrum, to decide if they want to keep this republic we have built over the past 248 years.

Veterans, now is the time to decide whether you honorably served our country or a president.

Independents and Republicans must decide whether they stand for ideals, integrity and honor or a person.

You have a handful of days to make that decision.

I have made that decision for myself and my grandchildren’s future. I’ve chosen hope for a better tomorrow over fear and hate; freedom to live our lives without politicians telling us what we can read, who we can love, and that women have control over their own bodies.

I’m voting for Harris/Walz, Kaylee Peterson, Jim Woodward, Karen Matthee, Kathryn Larson and Steve Johnson for the change that is overdue.

We must stem the tide of extremism within Idaho and replace them with forward-thinking candidates in our legislature and the U.S. Congress.

If you are not registered, you can register at your polling station Nov. 5. If you think your vote doesn’t matter, I say you cannot win the lottery unless you buy a ticket.
