ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Hope Barnes, Sandpoint girls' soccer

This week's Athlete of the Week is Hope Barnes of Sandpoint girls' soccer.
In their 3-0 upset win over Lewiston in the 5A IEL district championship this past Wednesday, Hope, a junior, scored two second-half goals for the Lady Bulldogs, which haven't defeated the Bengals since 2021. Hope's two goals not only helped Sandpoint to their third straight district title, but a 5A state tournament berth.
