Donald Reed, 73
Donald H. Reed, 73, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at his home in Cocolalla, Idaho.
Services will be held at a later date.
Don was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Wray, Colo., to Howard and Vivian Reed. He grew up and attended school in Moab, Utah, graduating from Grand County High School. He then attended Northern Colorado University, before enlisting in the United States Army.
Don worked for Del Web on Lake Powell, where he met Cindy Vogrinec. They married June 5, 1976, in Price, Utah. Don and Cindy worked and raised their family in Page, Ariz., before moving to Cortez, Colo., in 1994. In 2002, they moved to North Idaho, Don worked in retail and then opened Dust to Don Cleaning service.
He enjoyed being involved in his kids’ activities. He was passionate about baseball and football. Don was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and camping. He loved woodworking and creating with his hands. He was very involved at North Summit Church. He served in the men’s group and with the hospitality team. He loved to talk to people about anything, especially God and his love for Him.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Cocolalla, Idaho; three children, Amy (Jeremy) DeVault of Vero Beach, Fla., Travis (Sabrina) Reed of Ceclia, Ky., and Aaron Reed (Amanda Shipman) of Sandpoint, Idaho; six grandchildren, Sierra Reed, Alyssa DaVault, Abigail DaVault, Hunter Reed, Trevor and Lauren Pistole; one sister, Phyllis Reed of Dayton, Ohio; two nieces, Robyn (Mike) Hakala and Alexia (John) Metz; and his beloved pack of “Bumpus Dogs,” Baxter, Bailey, Bart, and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
