Vote for genuine locals like Lefebvre, Johnson

| October 24, 2024 1:00 AM

In 2020, the Lion's Club took a year off from holding their July 4th activities when COVID-19 was raging. Ron Korn (current candidate for Bonner County Commission) chose to buck health directives and organized his version that started with a militia-lead parade. The following year, when Lion's Club prepared to resume their activities, Korn attempted to uncut them for the city permit.

Claiming he was entitled to the permit, Korn pressed for a Sandpoint City Council hearing. After a Lions Club official made their intention clear for a single-year sabbatical, councilors voted unanimously to honor the club's long-held commitment to our community.

Korn has also pressed in where not wanted. Last summer when WBCSD was having its problems with then-superintendent Branden Durst, Korn showed up with his Bravo Militia to “guard entry” to the school board meeting. Many Priest River parents did not like this strong-armed presence from outsiders.

Bonner County residents need commissioners with even temperaments. Korn's manipulative, wily actions are reason enough not to have him serve as a county commissioner.

Please give your vote to long-time “genuine locals” Glenn Lefebvre and Steve Johnson for their plans to enact common-sense solutions. A breath of fresh air.
