Blanche Harvey, 91

Blanche V. Harvey (Peters), 91, fondly known as “Chic,” passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at the Pack River Cemetery with Pastor Kyle Mangum officiating.

Blanche was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Thomas and Betty Harvey. She grew up in the Spirit Lake and Spokane areas, graduating from North Central High School in Spokane. She earned her teaching degree from Washington State University.

Blanche married Joseph Peters in 1954, and they had four children. They followed Joe’s Air Force career while Blanche taught school at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico; Oscoda, Michigan; Rome, New York; and Oldtown, Idaho. Blanche retired in 1994.

She was a member of Sandpoint Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and being a grandma.

She is survived by three children, Charri (Gary) Henricksen of Keene, N.H., Rick (Bridgitte) Peters of Sandpoint and Laurie (Brandon) Buck of Sandpoint; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Terri Peters; grandson Josh Peters; and her sister, Barbara Hale.
