WORLEY — At the Marimn Health Coeur Center, senior Evrett Montgomery combined for 166 yards and three touchdowns, sophomore Mateo Cruz was 7-for-17 passing for 145 yards and two total touchdowns as Clark Fork's season came to a close against North Star League foe Coeur du Christ on Friday.

Montgomery had four catches for 78 yards and a score and rushed seven times for 68 yards and scored on runs of 6- and 51-yard tries to lead the way; he also completed a pass for 20 yards and had 139 kick return yards in the contest. Cruz, whose touchdown pass was to Montgomery for 70 yards, threw two interceptions but made up for it by rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown (14-yard score) on eight carries.

Junior Solomon Holderman added 36 yards on six carries and seven tackles on defense while sophomore Peyton Chapman hauled in two receptions for 45 yards and posted eight tackles on defense. Cruz, playing both ways like most Wampus Cat players, had a team-high nine tackles on defense.

Freshman Grant Clemens passed for four touchdowns and ran for two more as the Saints completed their first year as a football program. Sophmore Charles Jenne had two touchdown catches and an interception, Ben Connelly had an interception on the game’s first play, then caught two touchdown passes and Greg Hayes ran for two touchdowns and recovered a fumble for Coeur du Christ, which finished the season 3-5.

Clark Fork, which finished the season 0-7 and dealt with low turnout and injuries, expects up to 10 freshman to join the team next year. This year's graduating seniors are Montgomery, who played wide receiver and linebacker; Stone Koivu, who played offensive and defensive line; and Kaleb Ponder, who played tight end and defensive end.
