Robert “Ted” Reed, born Nov. 16, 1969, in Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, in Ponderay, Idaho. He leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Ted was raised in the picturesque town of Sandpoint, Idaho, where he was nurtured by his devoted parents, Eugene and Peggy Reed. Growing up on a small farm, Ted developed a deep love for the outdoors that would define much of his life. As a child, he found joy on the soccer field, an early indication of his lifelong passion for sports and outdoor activities.

Ted’s adventurous spirit led him to explore a wide array of interests. From off-roading and boating to hunting, fishing, and golfing, Ted embraced every opportunity to connect with nature. He had a knack for finding joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was playing a friendly game of pool, engaging in a strategic poker hand, or simply soaking in the beauty of the Oregon coast, where he retired to fully embrace the sand dunes and ocean waves.

Ted’s professional life was marked by his dedication and hard work. He proudly owned his own insulation company, building a successful career that mirrored his commitment and perseverance. His transition to retirement was a testament to his love for adventure, as he found new ways to enjoy life’s pleasures along the stunning Oregon coastline.

Ted’s heart was most full when surrounded by his family. He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Peggy Reed, and Karen Tewksbury. His beloved children, Amanda (Jesse) Gardner, Taylor (Matthew) Hawks, and Ryan Reed, also survive him and will carry forward his spirit and values. His grandchildren — Hannah, Brandon, Connor, Brilee, Payton, and Bentley — were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Ted is also survived by his siblings, John Reed, Traci Eveland, Amy West, and Angie Tewksbury Smith.

Ted will be remembered not only for his adventurous spirit and zest for life but also for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of Ted’s life will be held Oct. 12, 2024 (location TBD), where family and friends will come together to honor his remarkable journey.

Rest in peace, Ted. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
