Master Gardeners offering home orchard class

Want your own orchard? WSU Master Gardeners will give you some tips at an upcoming class.

A Master Gardener panel will discuss everything from how to plan an orchard, purchasing the best trees and planting procedures to caring for the trees during the growing season, when to harvest and how to store fruit. They will also discuss pest management and fruit tree pruning.   

The class will take place at the Create Arts Center, 900 Fourth St. in Newport, on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. The class fee is $5, ($3 for MGs), and can be paid by check, money order, cash or through PayPal.
