PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Lamanna cruises to Bonners Ferry Invitational title
BONNERS FERRY — Priest River High 5,000-meter record holder Brayden Lamanna continues to produce fast times, finishing first out of 29 runners at the Bonners Ferry Invitational Saturday with a time of 17 minutes and four seconds, one minute and 37 seconds ahead of second place.
Sophomore Daniel Gunkle was the second finisher for the Spartans, placing 12th with a time of 21 minutes and eight seconds.
On the girls’ side, juniors Kyla and Capri White finished in sixth and seventh, respectively, with times of 24 minutes and 27 seconds and 24 minutes and 37 seconds for the Lady Spartans. Sophomore Alannah McLaimtaig took eighth with a time of 25 minutes and 18 seconds.
Priest River will be back in action Sept. 28 when they host the Ivan Benson Invite.
