VOLLEYBALL

Genesis Prep 3, Clark Fork 0

CLARK FORK — At Clark Fork High, the Lady Cats fell in straight sets (16-25, 15-25, 18-25) to the visiting Jaguars, but were able to take a lot of positives away from Thursday night’s match.

Clark Fork High head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said her team played at a high level and it was incredibly fun to watch.

“This was our best all-around match so far this season — unfortunately, the score doesn’t necessarily reflect that, but I know the girls are proud of how they are growing, and they should be,” coach Kiebert-Carey said. “We are contenders in this new league and it shows more and more each week.”

Junior Piper Scarlett led the Lady Cat offense with six kills.

“Piper has been putting in work on her swing last night (Thursday) and it showed,” coach Kiebert-Carey said. “She was fast to the ball and brought our crowd to their feet a few times. I was so happy to see her hard work paying off and we plan to build on that momentum.”

Junior Aurora Lane dished out team-high 12 assists and six aces against a solid Genesis Prep serve receive; coach Kiebert-Carey said she is growing tremendously as a setter and decision maker.

On defense, freshman Keira Gannon led Clark Fork with a team-high eight digs while seniors Kayla Swales and Olivia Yetter had some key block touches that gave the back line a chance to play some hard hits.

Clark Fork (1-5) hosts Noxon tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
