PRIEST LAKE — An Ohio man died Wednesday in a one-vehicle crash near Priest Lake, Idaho State Police officials said.

ISP troopers said the fatal crash occurred in the 18000 block of Highway 57 when a 67-year-old male from Granville, Ohio, was southbound in a white 1999 GMC Yukon. In a press release, ISP officials said the man drove left of center, ran off the roadway over the northbound shoulder, and crashed into a group of small trees.

The driver and sole occupant of the GMC was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bonner County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

Traffic on the highway was blocked in both directions for approximately an hour to allow emergency responders to process the crash scene before one lane of travel was opened to allow traffic to pass.

Next of kin have been notified.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
