Festival at Sandpoint makes beverage policy change

SANDPOINT — The Festival at Sandpoint, the non-profit behind the longtime local summer concert series, announced Wednesday it would no longer allow attendees to bring outside liquids to summer shows.

In a statement shared with the Daily Bee, Festival at Sandpoint executive director Ali Baranski said the policy change was the only option to be able to obtain adequate insurance.

According to the Festival’s public statement, it became increasingly difficult for the organization to acquire insurance due to the previous policy, under which attendees could carry drinks, including alcoholic beverages, into the venue.

Going forward, beer, wine, and cocktails will be sold at on-site bars during summer shows, along with non-alcoholic drinks at street food vendors.

Festivalgoers will be allowed to bring empty water bottles to summer shows, which will have free water filling stations.

The Festival’s other policies, including its allowance of outside food, remain unchanged.
