Forestry Shortcourse announced
Idaho forest owners seeking to deepen their knowledge of forest growth and management of their are invited to take part in the University of Idaho Extension's upcoming Forestry Shortcourse.
The six-session course will be held from Oct. 31 to Dec. 12 to help Idaho forest landowners better understand forest management.
The course aims to educate landowners on forest ecology, silviculture, forest health and wildlife habitat. Participants will also receive guidance from natural resource professionals on developing a forest management plan.
Sessions will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31, Nov. 6, 14, 21, and Dec. 5 and 12 at the University of Idaho Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, 10881 N. Boyer Road.
The $38 registration fee includes a binder of forest stewardship materials and a USB drive with over 120 extension publications. Enrollment is limited to 25 people.
The program offers two Idaho pesticide recertification credits. Teachers can earn two University of Idaho credits for an additional $120.
