Don't be fooled by partisan 'informational' meetings
Do not be fooled. Highly partisan Proposition 1 “informational” meetings are coming to North Idaho. One meeting is even scheduled in the Bonner County Administration Building, home of the Elections Office. These meetings are anything but simply “informational” but are attempts by a political faction to retain power.
In the Hope Community Center presentation, the Prop 1 primary was repeatedly labeled a “jungle” primary; an example Democrat candidate was named Poison Penny; and an “evidence” source was the Idaho Freedom Foundation. The public “Don't Californicate Idaho” displays were called a play on words. Prop 1 instant runoff/ranked choice voting was described in selective cases as going awry.
Do not be fooled by PowerPoint presentations. Listen to your Bonner County neighbors asking to have conversations with you about Proposition 1. The reason we are showing up and reaching out is that Idahoans do not want any more Idaho women life-flighted to neighbor states for emergency medical procedures. We do not want big government in our bedrooms and doctor's offices. We do not want our librarians and teachers to flee the state because of potential legal problems. We do not want our tax dollars siphoned off to greedy private and home school curriculum developers.
We want our freedoms back. Our broken voting system needs to be fixed to prevent a small number of people from controlling our lives. Do not be fooled by highly partisan “informational” Proposition 1 meetings.
